In order for it to cause growth it must be Truth!
The devil knows this and he has been hard at work for 2000 years spewing out tainted water to keep the saints from the truth.
Revelation 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
There is much amiss with the church.
As a matter of fact, if you can receive it, the only church today are those who have seen the truth and have left the system.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11
10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
If you remain in her you are under strong delusion and cannot see the truth.
John 8:31-32
31) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Doctrine is useless if it is not accompanied by a holy life, Christ is never fully valued, until sin is clearly seen.
There is no commentary that opens up the Bible so much as sickness and sorrow.
Sound doctrine and holy living are the marks of true prophets.
Holiness comes from Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Laughter, ridicule, opposition, persecution are often the only reward which true followers get from the world.
Take away the cross of Christ, and the bible is a dark book.
You may be careless about your soul, the devil is not.
I am one of those old-fashioned preachers who believe the whole bible and everything that it contains!
John 5:39-41
39) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40) And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41) I receive not honour from men.
The church has stepped over the edge into idolatry, when it come's to there pastor's.
They follow everything they say without question and irrespective of scandal, and they do not search the Scriptures themselves to see if what is preached or what they do aligns with God's Word.
When Cornelius met the apostle Peter and bowed down before him, Peter rightly told him to get up, that he was only a man like himself.
Acts 10:25-26
25) And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26) But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
